Specializing in small-scale dinner parties, private event catering and personal chef services, Cantarello, led by Chef Joe Cardinal is a unique addition to New York’s competitive food-services industry. The minimal aesthetic reflected in the brand’s website and identity should evoke a feeling of cleanliness while the inclusion of the illustrated mushroom (Cantarello is the Italian word for chanterelle) and signature warm yellow offer necessary comfort.

Since it’s opening in early 2010, Belief has become the go-to shop for sneakers, street-wear and all things skateboarding. The Queens, New York shop also serves as a studio and home-base for their fast growing apparel and accessories line. With early plans for events, their own line and collaborations with other brands, the Belief logo needed to be simple but versatile enough to work on any canvas and in any medium. The site design includes large-scale photography to help emphasize the brand’s roots in New York skateboarding.

Civil Grooming, the brainchild of barber Matt Southerland, is a men’s grooming and skin-care line specializing in organic at-home shaving products. The packaging shown was created as an interim solution for the growing demand of their sample offerings (Shave Jelly, Aftershave and beard balm) and designed to mesh with the brand’s classic aesthetic.

Opening its door in December of 2008, Las Chicas Locas has been a welcome addition to its Chelsea neighborhood by serving traditional Mexican cuisine in a stylishly rustic venue. The website and hand-drawn Las Chicas Locas logo were designed to better reflect the fusion of new and old.

Brooklyn Terrace is a stylish rooftop lounge located atop the Aloft and Sheraton hotels in the heart of downtown Brooklyn. The logo reflects the simplicity of Brooklyn Terrace’s modern interior and boutique hotel roots while emphasizing it’s position as a rooftop location. The website uses large full-scale photography offering a sneak peek of the venue’s design and the best 360 degree views of Brooklyn, lower Manhattan and the surrounding rivers.

H-Spot was an online magazine offering a college-aged male demographic original content related to sex, humor, grooming, fashion and entertainment. Not to be categorized as a “bro” site, H-Spot needed a slightly more sophisticated identity to reflect the differences between their brand and others offering content within similar subjects. The overall feel of their identity reflects a modern style while some of the individual elements bring out the subjects they often covered.

Iraqi Hope was a collaborative campaign that I worked on with Support The Troops t-shirt company, TakePride and charitable organization, Generation Iraq. We created a series of designer-quality t-shirts with art inspired by individual Iraqi children orphaned as a result of the wars. 100% of the profits from the sale of the shirts went directly to Generation Iraq to assist in their efforts with Iraqi children. The design shown was inspired by a young boy named Yasar who’s only wish was for peace in his hometown so that he could be reunited with his missing family.

Marial Maher (aka Seasick Mama) is a musician and multifaceted artists. Her work has appeared recurrently in Esquire Magazine, Black Book, The Standard NYC as well as various popular creative blogs. The mark was designed to serve as representation for all Seasick Mama endeavours.
